Moth – brown bean is healthy , a rich source of protein and full of nutrition. Moth Chaat is an Indian street food which is very tasty and easy to prepare. You can enjoy it in breakfast or as anytime snack. It’s my all time favorite . So here I bring for you the recipe for Moth Chaat.
This recipe serves 2.
1 cup moth beans soaked in water overnight
1 potato(boiled and diced)
1 finely chopped onion(small size)
1 finely chopped tomato( small size)
1 finely chopped green chilli
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp tamarind paste(I used readymade tamarind sauce from Maggi brand, you can even prepare it at home)
1/2 tsp black salt
1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp chaat masala
salt according to taste
chopped cilantro for garnishing
1) In a pressure cooker, add drained moth beans and water. Cover the lid and cook on medium flame until 2-3 whistles.( You can check in between to avoid over cooking. They should not turn mushy)
2) Once the pressure is released, open the lid and drain extra water if any.
3) In a mixing bowl add moth beans, all chopped veggies, spices, lemon juice and tamarind paste. Mix well.
4) Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve.
NOTE: You can check for spices at this time and add more as per your taste.
